Never Repeat the Same Mistake Twice!
O
ne of the most fascinating aspects of being in our industry is the chance to work with many different types of companies and non-profit organizations. Having such a diverse reach brings new needs and challenges to us for every project we work on, which we embrace because it makes us smarter! We learn how to do something new and worthwhile not only for that client but for subsequent clients, as well.

Challenges are only Opportunities in need of a Solution!
A few years ago, we planned a corporate conference with their in-house team. While onsite during the conference, at the end of each day, the lead planner gathered all the upper-level directors and executives together to recap the day, which in itself is commendable.

But then the lead planner went a step further and encouraged participants to candidly share anything they experienced that didn't work; never using the word "problem".

Her consistent question was "What were our challenges today and what
opportunities do we have moving forward?" Brilliant, huh?

In an environment where people are stressed out, she set tone of unity and participation in a room filled with multiple levels of management. This positive attitude made it irresistable to take the opportunity to point out something that could've been better AND offer a solution at the same time!
